About Your Instructor

Krista Holland - Founder of the SACRED ⚪️ DRUMMING ACADEMY and faculty of the Shift Network, is a multifaceted teacher, frame drummer, and independent researcher on the frame drum's ancient global and poly-cultural history. Krista studied the art and practice of frame drumming along with the ritual, myths, and ancient feminine drum history with her primary teacher and mentor, the late Layne Redmond, author of "When the Drummers Were Women," for 14 years until Layne's passing. Krista has since developed a unique sacred drumming methodology that weaves together a rich tapestry of teachings on frame drumming. The SACRED ⚪️ DRUMMING ACADEMY combines the technical aspect of playing the frame drum and insights into the drum's mythic history and modern research on the health benefits and life-affirming practice of recreational music-making, rhythm, and sound healing.
